A few weeks back I was invited to speak at the University of Tampa's Business Analytics club meeting. It was my first time engaging with them so I wanted to make sure I delivered a meaningful message with relevant content everyone in the audience could relate to. I decided to do a presentation focused on the skills that, in my opinion, separated the most effective analysts from the rest.
The presentation is a combination of lessons learned through my own successes/ failures, content from various books and through observing others in similar roles.
The technical skills you posses will be 'how' you do your work as an analyst but to truly thrive you need to understand 'why' the work is being requested of you.
